Left fielder Manny Ramirez smashed 3 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Jefferson Park Penguins topped the Dominican Republicans by a score of 10 to 7 at the ballpark. Ramirez had a big day at the plate. He popped a two-run clout over the fence in the 1st inning, smashed a solo-shot out of the park in the 3rd inning and smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' (his 11th of the season) in the 8th inning. Jefferson Park rapped out 12 hits for the afternoon. Jon Lieber(2-2) was the winner allowing 3 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings. The losing pitcher was Mike Mussina(3-3). He was touched for 3 homeruns in his 1 and 1/3 innings of work. 'I was in my hotel room the other night, working on my swing and made some adjustments,' Ramirez said. 'I'm always working on it. If they are getting you out certain ways, you've got to make changes.'
